Cape Town
Cape Town formed the first African Regional base for Burning Man and gave birth to AfrikaBurn, which is currently the largest Regional Burner event in the world! Our annual AfrikaBurn takes place in late April at 'Tankwa Town' our own temporary town in the Tankwa-Karoo desert area north of Cape Town. In many ways Tankwa Town mimics a miniature Black Rock City, but with a quirky Afrikan twist!
We are a large and rapidly growing community and recently spawned the Gauteng sub-region.

Recent Events:
On Saturday 25th February, we held our first daytime, family-friendly outdoor urban event, the ParkLife picnic. While being entertained by various musical performers and other artists, all those present were able to mingle and interact, connect with the community, exchange ideas and impart knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to newbies who have not yet been to AfrikaBurn at Tankwa Town.
