Houston burners are a scattered bunch, much like the city we call
home, spread over hundreds of square miles of the freewayed swamp
that is our city. Half of the Burningman attendees are probably
unaware that Texas has had its own local event(s) for five years,
now, the other half are lone souls or clans that make the trek thinking
they are without fellow travellers, while yet another half are busily
conspiring with their Dallas and Austin cohorts to make the Temporary
Autonomous Zone a year-long reality... To that end, we encourage
any and all lone Houstonites to rally to the cause. and drop us
a line! We know you're out there, at the Art Car Parade, in the
suburbs, behind that desk. come out and play!

Houstonites hosted several camps at Flipside over Memorial Day weekend, Texas' own sold-out event, also known as "Burningman, the resort"..had the Texas premiere of the documentary "Gifting It" at Helios in May...attended the Padre Island Expedition over Easter weekend...hosted a variety of Friday night firepinning sessions at Helios..see how much fun you 've been missing? And that's just since January...
