Reno
Greetings from your Reno Regional Contacts! Reno and the surrounding
communities of Northern Nevada and Northeast California is literally
the front door to the Playa. We like to think of ourselves as being
'Almost Home'! Reno has a great, and ever growing, Burner Community,
with events and pot-lucks happening all year round. Reno IS 'The
Burniest Little City in the World'.
Some of you might know Cari from the Burner Boutique and general participation in Burner related community events. As a spiritual-community seeker she found her forever home at Burning Man in 1999 and have been participating ever since. The art, intelligence and community of Burning Man inspires and drives her year round. Yo-da Man!
RyanO has been to the Burn four times and lead the construction of Rock Opera Stage in 2006. In 2007 he was co-founder/creator of the Shiva Vista Project with Dave King. He is a 15 year practicing artist and designer.
Nikki will always attend Burning Man as long as she can because it is home to her. A daughter of a fireman she admires the courage of firefighters and has a respectful fascination with fire which she likes to spin. As a regional contact she strongly wants to help promote community voluntarism and support and assist artists in displaying their creative and beautiful works of art all working within the spirit of Burning Man and the 10 principles and ethos.
Rod camped solo his first year, then helped with the International Burn
Hostel the next three years as he experimented with fabric art.
The last two years he has camped with Club Verboten as he developed
VERY large shade structures. Rod also manages Annabella's Zen Art
Sanctuary in Reno where they store and create art for the playa as
well as do potlucks and film nights.
