Hawaii
The Ka Pilina Interactive Arts Society, Inc. (incorporated as a 501c3 nonprofit
in 2006) has been Burning Man’s Hawaii Regional group
since 2002. Our mission is to bring together people separated by distance
and culture by supporting interactive art in Hawaii (and around the
world) by promoting all types of participatory art, to grow and strengthen
community ties while building Social Capital. The interactive art community
in Hawaii has grown over the past few years and the future here is
very bright and active.
We aim to be quite active here in Hawaii and for each year (spread over the islands of Oahu, Hawaii, Maui, and Kauai), our goal is to hold: 4 Interactive Art Ho’olaule’a (multi-day camping events), 8 or more “urban events” per year, at least one monthly gathering per island, art grants, community projects, and more. All are invited to participate with aloha.
