Regional Contacts

Washington, DC

Our group includes Washington, DC and surrounding areas which include Virginia and Maryland. Burners from Washington, DC and Baltimore are pretty inseparable; plus we have many burners join us from afar (WI,FL,VT,NJ,NY,IL,MA). Some of us camp together at Burning Man, some with Snowflake Village or Videogasm, and others join other camps.

Our Balt-Wash & beyond burners organize two east coast events a year called Playa del Fuego (PDF) - Spring & Fall. We've left the beach for a c/o private site in Odessa, Delaware. We also hold fundraisers to support ideas we want to try out at PDF. Many burners have been gathering in Baltimore every Tuesday for 4 years at a local pub. DC peeps meet irregularly for drinks or dancing.

burns attended:

My first burn was in 1999, and I've attended every burn since. As with everyone else, Burning Man has changed my life in a terrific way (but not always the easy way).

PDF Planning Meeting 4/13/02 in Baltimore Minutes of all planning meetings plus the approved budget available at www.playadelfuego. Our meetings are awesome! We carved out a budget for the first time this year that included buying materials and building a big-ass dome. We met all expenses with advance ticket sales which means all gate sales go toward our next east coast burn in Fall 2002. Meeting pics at http://vees.net/g2/?t=pdf/aprilplan.

A verbal and pictoral history of our Spring & Fall east coast PDFs since August 1998 is at http://www.op.net/~fibo/asstsumm.html
